Literally This Couple Got Married on Mt. Everest and the Wedding Pics Are Next-Level

Ashley Schmeider and James Sisson Mt. Everest

According to the Daily Mail, Ashley Schmeider and James Sisson spent three weeks trekking up to a Mt. Everest base camp at 17,000 feet above sea level. After deciding “a traditional wedding was not the right fit” for them, they planned for a year and then schlepped everything they needed from California to get married on the Nepal mountain up with them and tied the knot there.

“As much as we would have loved to share our special day with our family and friends, we were both drawn to the idea of eloping during an incredible vacation,” Schmeider said. The pair had previously climbed as high as 14,000 feet before, and encountered altitude sickness and near-frost bite on this particular climb.

It's unclear who officiated the ceremony, but the entire journey was documented by specialist adventure wedding photographer Charleton Churchill, who traveled with Schmeider and Sisson from California.

Gonna go ahead and guess you’d rather see a goddamn Mt. Everest wedding rather than hear someone describe it. Photos below (and more here). Enjoy!
