Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirms Manchester United move

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he is joining Premier League giants Manchester United for the next season.

The 34-year-old, who quit international football after Sweden's exit from the European Championship, will fly to Manchester to sign a one-year contract on Friday. Zlatan, a free agent after leaving Paris St-Germain, has agreed personal terms worth £220,000 a week.

The talismanic forward took to Twitter to confirm his next destination.

Ibrahimovic had a very poor Euro 2016 campaign, as Sweden failed to qualify for the knock-out rounds but his ex-mentor's admiration for him was enough to bring him to Manchester. Jose Mourinho and Ibrahimovic worked together during the former's spell at Inter Milan and since then both have been on very good terms. With Mourinho beginning his Manchester United revolution and United needing an identity, there is no better person to bring in than the charismatic Swede.

Being a free agent, Zlatan was easy to sign and getting the 34-year-old on board was a no-brainer from United's point of view. He is also likely to receive a two million pounds loyalty bonus from PSG after completing his contract and not striking a deal with any other club.
