2 men killed a baby so that they could gang-rape his Mother




Bareilly: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old married woman was gang-raped by a private bus driver and conductor in Sheeshgarh village of Bareilly.

The rapists allegedly flung her 14-day-old infant to the ground resulting in his instant death. The woman, a native of Rampur, was returning home on Monday night after attending a family function in village Khapuriya. As she alighted at her destination, she was forcibly dragged inside the vehicle by the two accused.

According to cops, the shocked woman fell unconscious and was found by locals inside the bus station the next morning when her husband along with villagers came there looking for her. After she narrated them the incident, an FIR was lodged.

Talking to TOI, superintendent of police (rural areas) Yamuna Prasad said, "We have arrested the bus driver and conductor identified as Ishwari Lal and Pannu. They have been charged under section 376 D (gang rape) and 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of Indian Penal Code and sent to jail."In her complaint to police, the 28-year-old survivor said she was returning from a relative's place at another village and had taken the bus. Since it was late night by the time she alighted at the bus station, she decided to wait inside the bus station until the next morning.

"Seeing her alone, the private bus driver and conductor pounced upon her and dragged her inside the bus. When she resisted, the two gagged her and raped her. In the ensuing scuffle, the woman said, the two snatched her 14-day-old infant from her lap and flung him to the ground. The baby sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot," said a cop at the Sheeshgarh police station.
