Asia Cup 2016 Schedule announced; India To Take On Pakistan In 2nd Game!

The 2016 Asia Cup will be completely different from the previous editions of the tournament as this Asia Cup will be played in the Twenty20 international format instead of the usual 50-over format and that’s not all. This Asia Cup will have 5 teams instead of the usual 4 so you can say that this tournament will have more action, more drama and more entertainment.

The 13th edition of the Asia Cup will be held in Bangladesh from 24 February to 6 March 2016 and will provide teams with some invaluable match practice before the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The fixtures for the 2016 Asia Cup have been announced and the blockbuster match between India-Pakistan will be played on the 27th of February. 4 participants have already been confirmed : Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan and one associate member of the ICC will be determined through a qualifier. The qualifiers will be played between 19 to 22 February 2016 and will feature Nepal, UAE, Hong Kong and Afghanistan.

On the suggestion of the ICC the format of the Asia Cup will change according to the World Cup organised after it. If the next World Cup will be played in the 50 over format the Asia Cup will also be played in the same format and if it is a T20 World Cup , like this year, it will be played in the T20 format.

The Final of the tournament will be played on the 5th of March at the Shere Bangla Stadium.
