
Festive season is almost a week away. A lot of us would love to take this as a chance to get away from our regular schedule; leave the busy city to go to a peaceful destination for an extended weekend.
Considering the diversity our country has to offer, one can never fall short of destinations for vacations. Here's a list of all the places that are best suited for a visit during the months of October-November.
1. Rann of Kutch: One of the biggest salt deserts, the Rann of Kutch offers a festival, The Rann Utsav starting from the month of November. The endless stretch of the white salt desert with the moon shinning over you, easily makes this one of the most romantic destinations in India.
There are AC and non-AC tent facilities so that you can enjoy the serenity of the place to the best. You can also relish the Gujarati dishes while enjoying catchy folk music sessions by the local artists.
2. Panchgani: Discovered by the British, Panchgani is a hill station in Maharashtra, which is often used as a retirement spot. Offering pleasant weather and greenery all over, this could be your peaceful vacation destination.
The Dhom Dam contributes to the prevailing scenic view to the place and the Devil's Kitchen caves and the Parsi Point are two of the most beautiful tourist spots to visit.
3. Darjeeling: Situated in North Bengal, Darjeeling is known as the "Queen of the hills". It is most beautiful during the month of October and November because of the onset of the winters.
The weather is really pleasant, offering a clear sky that gives you a view of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga Mountains. Starting from monastries, tea plantations, toy-train rides, colonial architectures and rock gardens, Darjeeling has a lot to offer to its visitors.
4. Varkala Beach: Located in Kerala, this is one of the most underrated destinations of the state. A favourite amongst foreign tourists, this place could be perfect for your vacation. This is the only beach in the state which is accompanied by cliffs on the other side, so you can enjoy mountains and beaches together. With a plethora of water sports and spas along the cliffs, this is perfect if you're in for some sun bathing and swimming.
Ancient temples, burial grounds, lighthouses - you will find all of these there. And the sunset you will see on the broad horizon of the beach is worth every penny you spend, or even more.
5. Ziro: The lush green paddy fields are bound to make you fall in love with Ziro, a small town in Arunachal Pradesh. Inhabited by the Apa Tani tribe, this has made to the list of the offbeat Indian tourist destinations over the last few years.
Ziro claims to be one of the most serene and noise-free destinations, Ziro gives you a break from the monotony that life offers, and is just perfect for meditation.
6. Jodhpur: October-November is the best season for visiting Jodhpur as the scorching sun is not overhead anymore and the chilled winter hasn't yet arrived. You can go for desert safaris, visit Mehrangarh Fort which is a popular movie shooting location, shop and enjoy the famous Rajasthan International Folk Festival which happens somewhere around the autumnal season.
