Live cricket score, India vs West Indies: Kohli smashes double ton in Antigua

Virat Kohli has finally notched up his first ever double ton in Test cricket. He was the toast of India's batting on Day 1 of the Antigua Test on Thursday too.

Virat Kohli has become the first ever Indian captain to score a double hundred in Tests.

Virat Kohli was once again at the forefront of India’s batting department with the visitors sitting comfortably at 302/4 at the close of play on day one. The pitch wasn’t doing much for the pacers and there were hints that it could help the spinners with Devendra Bishoo picking three of the wickets. Giving Kohli company was R Ashwin (22*) after Shikhar Dhawan (84) departed before tea. There are few examples of extra bounce here and there but largely it is a flat track which will help the batsmen – unless, of course, there are any loose shots involved.
India had started their inning cautiously with Shannon Gabriel sending in fierce deliveries past Dhawan and the Indian opener remained careful and patient to let the good balls pass. After Murali Vijay’s exit, Dhawan and Kohli steadied the innings with a 105 run stand. Carlos Brathwaite reckons a new ball early on might just do the trick to get them wickets and push India back.

Many Congratulations @imVkohli on scoring his 1st double hundred in Test Cricket. many more to come.  @BCCI
