Women's Kabaddi Challenge begins today

Women power will join the ProKabaddi League bandwagon on Tuesday as the three team women’s league will mark its debut during the fourth season of the league at the National Sports Club of India here.

For starters, STAR India, the promoter of the league, has shortlisted three teams of 12 athletes each for the Women’s Kabaddi Challenge.

The teams, christened Fire Birds, Ice Divas and Storm Queens, will play each other twice in the league stage.

The top team will surge through to the final while the remaining two teams will battle it out in a playoff before the finals day, a double header along with the men’s league.

While Fire Birds will be led by Mamtha Pujari, Abhilasha Mhatre and Tejeswini Bai have been appointed captains of Ice Divas and Storm Queens, respectively.
