India did well to bounce back and register a comprehensive win over Zimbabwe in the second T20I.
The three-match series is now nicely poised at one each, and both teams
definitely will have their eyes set on the series win. However, it is
India who come into the match as favourites.MS Dhoni’s young brigade
will be keen to end the Zimbabwe tour with a win and thus, clinch yet
another series win against the African side. After the first T20I,
Zimbabwe did give an indication that they will put up a fight. However, a
rare win was followed by yet another defeat as Zimbabwe looked
depleted, once again.
The hosts were
restricted to under 100 in the second T20I, and then India chased down
with ease. The only time Zimbabwe batted well they ended up winning,
something team management should ponder upon. Batting alone may not win
you matches, but it does make a side competitive enough.
Interestingly, India have not set
Zimbabwe a target in any of the matches on this tour. Maybe Dhoni should
look to bat first in case he wins the toss. Even Zimbabwe can try and
put India to bat.
Change in playing
XI as far as India are concerned looks unlikely. Hosts Zimbabwe may
think of making few changes. Hamilton Masakadza is struggling at top and
Zimbabwe may replace him or bring him somewhere in the middle-order.
