A horrific video surfaced on Saturday and went viral on Facebook, WhatsApp and other social platform, showing a factory worker being thrashed mercilessly. According to reports, a migrant labourer, Ram Singh died after he was hung upside down and beaten mercilessly in factory. The shocking incident took place in Amritsar city of Punjab state. In the video, Ram Singh is seen hanging upside down by a rope. A man identified as Jaspreet Singh hurls abuses at Singh in Punjabi and thrashed him with iron rod. However the shameful incident took place while several people were around but no one attempted to rescue Singh.
Ram Singh’s wife Raji said that her
husband was working in a foundry in Focal Point, Amritsar. Singh was
held responsible for a theft which happened in the factory some days
back. According to deceased’s wife, some people came at their house and
forcibly took his husband away in a car. Later Singh was found on a
road. The SHO of Mohkampur police station Narinder Kaur said that they
had booked a case under section 302, 365 and 34 IPC against Jaspreet
Singh and two unidentified persons. However no arrest has been made as
