Gram panchayat president N. Rajeev told The Hindu that there's a 1 km hotspot around the panchayat, with Wi-Fi hotspots at the Grama Vijnana Kendram (Vallamkulam) panchayat office (Kozhimala), Ayurveda dispensary (Nannoor), Primary Health Centre (Othera), and a children’ park.
The initiative was funded with a Rs. 4,17,000 project budget, and the panchayat has now launched a 100% e-literacy project. Eraviperoor has many laurels to its name - it is India's first panchayat to receive National Award for Public Administration this year, and Kerala state awards for biodiversity conservation. Village residents receive public announcement via SMS, and panchayat staff receive their salaries online.
