Mother of newborn raped in ICU of a private Hospital in Bahadurgarh

Chandigarh: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly raped by an unidentified man in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Bahadurgarh city of Jhajjar district of Haryana.

In her early 20s, the victim was shifted to ICU after her delivery. She had delivered a baby girl on Friday night. The baby was shifted to nursery while the victim was shifted to the ICU ward for recovery.

The entire episode has been captured in the CCTV installed in the hospital. Police have started the investigations after registering the case at Bahadurgarh city police station.

Ajit Singh DSP Bahadurgarh said that police parties have been constituted to track down the accused on the basis of CCTV grabs.

"We have spoken to the staff, the accused was an outsider. Video grab suggests he entered the ICU and targeted the woman and escaped after she got conscious. Rest investigations are in progress," he said.

Meanwhile, a high drama prevailed and the kin of the victim staged protests while raising anti-hospital slogans.
