India ‘A’ beat South Africa by eight wickets in the T20 warm-up match



India ‘A’ beat South Africa by eight wickets in the T20 warm-up contest at the Palam ground in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Riding on the strong opening stand between Manan Vohra (56 runs off 42 balls) and Mayank Agarwal (87 runs off 46 balls), India ‘A’ chased down the stiff target set by the visitors.


Vohra and Agarwal added 119 for the first wicket before the former was caught by Behardien off JP Duminy.

Earlier, Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat.

Quinton de Kock’s poor run continued as he was found short of his crease as a result from a sharp throw from Mandeep Singh.

Ab de Villiers who was promoted to the top of the order managed to score 37. Thanks to a late surge by Du Plessis( 42 off 27) and JP Duminy( 68 off 32), the visitors finished at 189/3 in the alotted 20 overs.
