The survey highlighted the fact that women are now coming out and expressing themselves more openly and it could be because of several reasons. According to director of the Pornhub Sexual Wellness Center and sex therapist Dr Laurie Betito, “2017 seems to have been the year where women have come forward to express their desires more openly.” It is not just the content available for women now but many other factors are involved.

2017 saw many celebrities including Harvey Weinstein being sued for sexual battery. Women across the world united by the #MeToo movement. They found the courage to tell their stories about sexual abuse. It was also the year when women like Nikki Haley and Hillary Clinton took the world stage making women feel empowered.

Betito says, “This is a sign of things to come. All of this has done wonders to empower women across the world with the confidence to explore other aspects of their life as well, including what they want in the bedroom.”
