Ind vs SL, 1st ODI, Live Cric Score, Live Updates: Driving on Dhoni's blistering batting, India set 113 runs target for Sri Lanka

MS DHONI

Indian batsman in the first ODI against Sri Lanka, played at Dharamsala, performed worst of all time so far. But the explosive and restrained batting of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, saved India for making a bad record. On driving Dhoni's explosive batting (65 runs), Team India managed to set target of 113 runs Sri Lanka. With this, Dhoni also completed 16,000 runs in international cricket.

Sri Lanka decided to bowl after winning the toss and demolished the top, middle and lower order of Team India at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. A brilliant bowling performance by Sri Lanka has seen the Indian batting line-up being bundled out for a paltry total.

It has all gone right for them today morning, right from winning the toss to executing the plans they made. They put the hosts into bat after calling it right at the toss. They started off really well with the new ball with Suranga Lakmal running havoc with it as he got great purchase from the wicket. He ended up with a four-fer, which also happens to be his career-best in ODIs. He bowled his heart out, bowling 10 overs on the trot. He was well-supported by the rest as every bowler chipped in at the wickets.

The Indian batting failed to cope up with seam and swing and in no time, found themselves reeling at 29 for 7. But then, Dhoni along with the tail managed to take the score past 100 with the former scoring a magnificent half century. He was fighting a lone battle out there and in the end perished, in the search of some quick runs. The wicket is good for seam bowling but the question is do India have enough?
