So what makes Royal Enfield “Royal”? Called ‘Bullet’ across the length and breadth of the country, Royal Enfield continues to churn out bikes that have encapsulated themselves to a legendary status. Yes, we have heard, many must have used them as well, so much about the brand, its design and what not, but I feel we didn’t read or know much about it. 1. Royal Enfield is the oldest running motorcycle brand in the world still in production.

2. It was the first company in India to provide rear disc brake in a two wheeler.

3. In 1965, the Indian government chose Bullet as the most suitable motorcycle for patrolling the country’s border.

The government ordered 800 350-cc model Bullets.

4. Indian Army still has thousands of Royal Enfield motorcycles in the service for the troops based in North, and North-west borders and other cantonments.

5. In 2001, the company sold about 25,000 bikes annually. Today, it sells more than 30,000 bikes in a month.
