Has Jio Phone Offline Booking Started? How to Pre-Book Jio Phone Online and At Offline Stores

The most-anticipated Reliance JioPhone-a smart feature phone with 4G VoLTE support will be made available to users in September this year. Ahead of its commercial rollout, the company has started the beta testing of the feature phone from August 15. 



As of now, the beta-testing is limited to a handful of users. It has to be noted that the 4G VoLTE smart feature phone will be available to public for pre-booking from August 24 and shipments will begin in September on first come, first serve basis. The firm is targeting the sale of five million JioPhone units per week.



The JioPhone was unveiled by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani at the company’s 40th annual general meeting on July 21 at Birla Matushri Sabhagar in Mumbai. Dedicating the group’s 40 years of achievements and records to founder chairman Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh Ambani said, “RIL’s market cap has grown from Rs. 10 crore in 1977 to over Rs. 5 lakh crore now.”



As per reports by NDTV Gadgets, various offline retailers in the Delhi NCR have started taking pre-orders for Jio Phone even before its original booking date i.e. August 24. It reported that the online registration was already going on at Jio.com. Ambani sent shock waves across the telecom sector after he announced the launch of Jio phone that offered life-long free voice calls bundled with 4G data streaming at just Rs 0.



 As per details by Jio, the phone will be available at a refundable security deposit of Rs 1,500 which will be refunded after 36 months on the return of the phone. That’s how the price of the phone will be effectively zero.

Online Registration

  • Visit the Reliance Jio website at https://www.jio.com/ and click on ‘Keep me posted’ box at the end of the page.
 
  •  Once you click on Keep me posted, you will be taken to a new page where you will be needed to enter your details. After filling all the details, click on Submit.

  • Customers will need to enter their name, email, phone number and pin code to book JioPhone. Jio will confirm the booking via an email or SMS.
 
  • After you have registered, customers will get the updates about the JioPhone via SMS and emails.
 
 
Offline Registration:

To pre-book JioPhone offline, a customer can walk into any offline Jio store. Reliance JioPhones monthly plans start at Rs 153 where the company offers 500MB of data per day, which totals to 14 GB data per month with a validity of 28 days.


 JioPhone also has a weekly plan for Rs 54 and a two-day plan that costs Rs 24. Jio has 125 million users since its launch in September last year and aims to double the number in months to come.



Documents you need to book Jio Phone offline:


  • If a user wishes to book a Jio phone offline, he/she will be needed to submit a copy of your Aadhaar card with the authorised Jio retailer. 

  • Only one JioPhone can be got against one Aadhaar number.
 
  • A customer doesn’t have to pay anything at the time of submitting the Aadhaar number. The security deposit of Rs 1,500 has to be paid when you pick your JioPhone from the offline retail store.
 
 
Register through SMS:

As per reports, a customer can also register the interest for JioPhone feature phone through SMS. 


To register, a user has to type “JP<>your area PIN code<>Jio Store code near your locality” and send it to 7021170211.



The JioPhone comes with a lot of offers like free access to Jio apps for 28 days. These packs allow users to use data and call benefits for two days and seven days respectively. 


The JioPhone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display along with a dedicated button that enables search through voice commands. The phone supports 22 Indian languages and also has NFC support for the digital payments. 



It has to be noted that JioPhone customers will get additional benefits of free voice calls till lifetime at a monthly tariff of Rs 153. The feature phone has a dedicated button for torchlight and an alphanumeric keypad.
