Mithali Raj's Girls Break The Glass Ceiling, Show Indian Women's Cricket Has Finally Arrived

Indian Women's Cricket

India lost by just 9 runs in the Women's World Cup final to England on July 23. From 191/3 they stumbled to 219 all out.

It was heartbreak for Mithali Raj's girls who were looking at their first title. The only final they played before this was against Australia in 2005.

But their efforts to get this far were not lost on the fans. Twitter was buzzing with congratulatory messages from the fans who stood behind their team thick and thin. Yes, we lost the cup, but we won many hearts.

Here's a look at what they said:

As our women's cricket team plays the World Cup finals today, I join the 125 crore Indians in wishing them the very best! @BCCIWomen
