Bill Gates has a net worth of $90.7 billion while Jeff Bezos has a net worth of $90.9 billion. This was declared after the shares of Amazon.com saw a 1.6 percent boost. Gates had been leading the list since 2013, but finally, he has found a replacement.

Amazon has progressed a lot in various categories especially groceries and apparel and this is the reason it has become a favorite of investors.



The retail giant has been dominating the market with its growth strategy, which has helped the share value shoot up from $237 to $1070.


Amazon has been riding high over the past year as its ambitions to offer an alternative to the world of brick-and-mortar retail has shifted into one that may completely upend it. In December, the company unveiled its Amazon Go concept stores, a move that made a lot more sense after it made its bid last month to acquire grocer Whole Foods for $13.7 billion.


Amazon’s market cap currently sits at $513 billion. Bezos own about 17 percent of the company. In addition to running Amazon, Bezos also owns the Washington Post and is starting a rocket company called Blue Origins.




The total value consists 81 million shares of Amazon, ownership value of “The Washington Post” and company “Blue Origin”, as well as cash that he got from sale of securities.
