After Justin Bieber’s ‘Cold Water’ released in July, it is not surprising that soon many covers of the song surfaced. Popular remixes include those by Afrojack, Lost Frequencies, etc. But what has really been winning the Internet recently is the song’s mash-up with a Malayalam number. A brother-sister duo from Malappuram in Kerala sang an amazing mash-up of ‘Cold Water’ and ‘Nenjodu Cherthu’, a song from an album named Yuvvh.
Since then, the song has gone viral on social media and the duo is getting a heartwarming response from the users. The viral video has Hanan Yasir singing Bieber’s lines, while his sister Hana Yasir voices the Malayalam song.
Hana is reportedly pursuing her MBBS from Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research Foundation and Hanan runs his own YouTube channel.
‘Cold Water’ was recorded by electronic music group Major Lazer and features vocals by Bieber and Danish singer MØ. ‘Nenjodu Cherthu’ was released in 2012 and was originally sung by Aalap Raju and features popular Malayalam film industry star Nivin Pauly.
The siblings will leave you in awe and definitely asking for more, what with their absolutely beautiful rendition of the two popular songs.
